1875 July 29th. Born at Talke, the son of George Sumner, a Colliery Manager, and his wife Emma Lawton.

1900 Married at Lytham St. Anne's to Emily Howarth Lyon

1911 Living at 2 Netherton Road, Twickenham: Orlando Sumner (age 35 born Talke, Staffs), Consulting Engineer. With wife Emily, two sons and two daughters.[1]

1926 Major O. Sumner, engineering and public works contractor, Westminster.[2]

1935 of Lyminge, Kent.[3]

1939 Living at Wensley Road, Harrogate, Major, OBE, Director of Engineering companies. With Emily H. Sumner.[4]
