1992 Marconi Space and Defence Systems was renamed Marconi Communications Ltd
1998 August: GEC acquired Siemens' 40% stake in the remainder of GPT and merged it with the telecoms units of its Italian subsidiary Marconi SpA, GEC Hong Kong and ATC South Africa to form Marconi Communications.
1998 Won a contract to supply BT with equipment to prepare for increased internet traffic; the equipment would be made in Coventry[1]
1998 The UK part was renamed Marconi Communications (UK) Ltd
1999 Won a contract from Boeing to upgrade the AWACS aircraft operated by NATO[2]. Acquired an Israeli company specialising in wireless internet equipment[3]
1999 Transferred Eddystone Radio to GEC who sold it to Megahertz Communications Ltd
1999 GEC changed its name to Marconi plc. Acquired 2 US companies which supplied telecomms. equipment to telephone networks in the USA[4]
2000 Marconi Communications (UK) Ltd was renamed Marconi Mobile Holdings Ltd
2002 Marconi Mobile Holdings Ltd was renamed Marconi Selenia Communications Holdings Ltd
2004 Marconi Selenia Communications Holdings Ltd was renamed Selenia Communications (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica
2006 Marconi Communications Ltd became Telent Communications Ltd[5]
2008 Telent Communications Ltd became Telent Technology Services Ltd[6]
