1876 Established by Thomas F. Marr (d. 1897) and James Downie (d. 1907) as Marr, Downie and Co.
1899 Marr, Downie and Company Limited was registered, with capital of £45,100, to acquire and carry on the existing business at 57 Ingram Street, Glasgow, of manufacturing stationers and bookbinders.[1]
