1721 Jean Martell is exporting more than 200,000 litres of cognac to the United Kingdom.
1753 Jean Martell died and his sons, Jean and Frederic take over the running of the business, renaming it J. and F. Martell.
1868 The company begins to export internationally to as far as Asia.
1912 Edward Martell creates Cordon Bleu Cognac.
1988 The Firino-Martell family sell the business to Seagram.
2002 Company sold to the Pernod Ricard Group, which also owns the Cognac brands Biscuit and Renault.
