MR. MARTIN GIMSON, who has died at his home, The Mount, Cosby, aged 68, was a partner in the Leicester firm of Pick Everard, Keay and Gimson, of Millstone. lane. Mr. Gimson started his professional career 51 years ago, articled to Mr. John Breedon Everard founder of the firm. He was resident engineer on the constructional work of the Derwent Valley Water Boards scheme to supply Leicester and neighbouring towns. During the first world war he served in East Africa and Cyprus returning 1933 to become a Prather with the late Mr. William Keay.

For the last 30 years, he has been consulting engineer to many municipal and other authorities. mainly in connection with schemes of water supply and sewage disposal and constructional projects, including the extensions to Leicestershire power station. Mr. Gimson was also wellknown as a chartered surveyor and served for some years on the council of that institution in London, as representative of the Leicestershire. Northamptonshire and Rutland branch.
