Mary Kendrick (1928-2015)

1928 May 2nd. Born in Nottingham

Expert on tidal estuaries and carried out early fieldwork in to the Thames barrier

1952 Married Arthur Leslie Kendrick and had three children

Joined the Hydraulics Research Station and worked there for thirty years

1968 Appointed to head the team working on the Thames Barrier project. For the next few years this project occupied much of her time - she remained involved with Thames Barrier for the remainder of her career.

2015 June 8th. Died age 87
