Matthew Ridley
Matthew White Ridley, first Viscount Ridley (1842–1904), politician
1842 Born in London, the elder son of Sir Matthew White Ridley, fourth baronet (1807–1877), of Blagdon, Northumberland, Tory MP for North Northumberland.
1886-9 Chaired the royal commission on civil establishments, otherwise known as the "Ridley commission" which inquired into the work and organization of the Home Office.
