1915 Obituary [1]
MAURICE MAGERY, of Villa St. Pierre, Namur-la-Plante, Belgium, died on October 9, 1914. He was the son of the late Jules Magery, at one time manager of the Rothe Erde works near Aix-la-Chapelle, Germany, and of the Tilleul rolling-mills near Maubeuge.
Like his father, he commenced his professional career as a mining engineer, and was a member of the Societe de l'Industrie Minerale and of the Association des Ingenieurs sortie de l'Ecole de Liege, where his technical training had been acquired. On the occasion of the visit of the Iron and Steel Institute to America in 1904, he collaborated with Mr. Timmermans, Mr. Dreux, and his father in publishing an exhaustive account, in French, of the principal works visited.
He was a frequent attendant at meetings of the Institute, of which he was elected a member in 1890.
