1941 'Lancashire Cotton Corporation Ltd., which has share capital of over £3.000.000 and owns about 50 spinning mills, have completed negotiations for the purchase of the properties of the Coppull Ring Spinning Co., Ltd., Chorley. This mill comprises the Coppull Mill which contains 54,000 ring spindles and also the mill formerly known as the Mavis Mill. The latter has 6,000 doubling spindles and a condenser spinning plant of 5,000 spindles. Both are modern mills, having been built in 1905 and 1909. The latest Improvements in ring spinning and doubling have been Incorporated. [2]
