An iron and glass market hall constructed 1885-8. Named in honour of José Ferreira Borges.

Architect João Carlos Machado.[1]

Cast iron columns are marked Fundição de Massarelos and Empreza Industrial Portuguesa, Santo Amaro of Lisbon. The latter are dated 1886.

Now used as a restaurant and a hall for concerts and exhibitions.
