1920s The cooker and heater department continued to make equipment with the exposed wire resistance elements.

c.1928 Development work started at Brimsdown on tubular-sheathed elements. The investigations were transferred to the research department which, early in 1929, produced a suitable manufacturing process.

1960 AEI established the Heavy Electrical Plant Division
