Appointed Assistant Engineer Ceylon Government Railway Extensions (1900 ), appointed Chief Construction Engineer Ceylon Government Railways (1906 ). Chief Works: Chester and Holyhead widening (L. and N.W.R. ); Northern Railway, Ceylon; Kelani Valley Ratnapma and Pehnedulla Railway, Ceylon; Duplication of 68 miles of main Broadgauge lines, Ceylon (in progress); Negombo and Chilaw Railway, Ceylon; Bandaiawila and Badulla Extension, Ceylon; Putlalam Extension, Ceylon; rebuilding and remodelling all railway stations, goods yards, stores, Colombo; constructing new and surveying all new lines, Railway to Harbour, Ceylon, etc. Member of the Sports Club, St. James' Square, London, and Colombo Club, Hill Club, Nuwara.
