MICHAEL ELLIOT, born at Lilleshall, Shropshire, on the 23rd November, 1858, died at Malvern, near Melbourne, Australia, on the 4th June, 1913.
After studying at Glasgow University and gaining practical experience, he went to Egypt in 1882 and was employed on irrigation and railway works.
In 1887 he went to Australia, and after some years’ service under the Victorian Government he engaged in consulting practice in Melbourne, and was responsible for a number of important irrigation, water-supply and drainage works in Victoria and for the Taieri Plain irrigation scheme in New Zealand.
Mr. Elliot was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 29th May, 1890, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 6th February, 1906.
