Mill Meece Pumping Station has two magnificent preserved steam pumping engines, one by Ashton, Frost and Co, and the other by Hathorn, Davey and Co. There is also a haulage engine by John Wood and Sons (Wigan). Steam is supplied by coal-fired Lancashire Boilers, with Green’s economisers.
