1930 Modern Foundries Ltd - Company incorporated to carry on the business of founders, smelters, manufacturers of pig iron, etc.

1935 Their agents in the North Country and London Area were Leigh and Sillavan

By 1962 was part of Asquith Machine Tool Corporation

1968 The foundry was one of 2 which were kept open in Staveley Industries's rationalisation of the foundries in its machine tool division[1]

1990 Name changed to WHS Ltd

1992 EGM held at Croydon. Name changed to W. H. Smith Electrical Engineers Ltd
