1895 Alexander Charles Moffatt founded the firm of Messrs. Moffatt and Eastmead, Ltd., London, specializing in lifts and cranes, and particularly in the manufacture of those fitted with Moffatt's self-sustaining gear.

1901 Sent a large feed water heater to Landaus Transvaal Collieries.[1]

1901 Company in voluntary liquidation[2]

1909 The business was absorbed into that of Messrs. Hammond Brothers and Champness.
