1980 Set up by Massey-Ferguson with the chief aim being to provide employment in the wake of closure of the Kilmarnock combine harvester factory with shed 1,500 jobs.[1]

Its expertise was in sheetmetal work, welding, machine shop operations, painting, tooling design and manufacture and some assembly.

1981 The Moorfield works manager was Alex Reid.
