1902 Morpeth Steamship Company Limited was incorporated, with capital of £100,000, to acquire, own and work the steamships Morpeth, Mickley, Meldon and Matfen (under construction), to adopt an agreement with J. C. Adam and J. B. Adam, and to carry on business as shipowners, charterers of ships and vessels, warehousemen, wharfingers shipping agents, managers of shipping property, etc.[1]

1916 The company went into voluntary liquidation.[2]
