Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electrical supply system. [1]

1922 Patented a high-temperature turbine, admitting steam at 1100 degF to drive the rotating discs by steam friction, and exhausting at 550F to a conventional Parsons-type reaction turbine. US Patent 174,544[3]
