Norman Mitchell (1887-1942)

Norman Mitchell was born in 1887.

He received a mechanical and electrical engineering apprenticeship and after a period as junior engineer with various firms became, in 1914, an Engineer-Officer in the Navy.

On his return to civil life he joined the Asiatic Petroleum Company as Technical Engineer, dealing with fuels for I.C. engines. He remained with the Company until the time of his death, his last position being Engineer-in-Charge of the engine and fuel department.

He died on the 10th May, 1942, at the age of 55.

He was elected an Associate Member in 1926 and transferred to Member in 1934.
