- 1888 One of the Leblanc process users who exhibited at the Glasgow Exhibition[1]. Novel way of dealing with the mangante soda impurity by enhancing the colour to make it a feature of the soda. Mr Stanford, owner of the company, was also responsible for the company being a competitive source of iodine. Also converted seaweed into useful products.
- 1888 North British Chemical exhibited crystals of chlorate of potash at the Glasgow International Exhibition[2].
