1903 The company was registered on 30 July. "The scheme on which this company is based comprises the generation of electrical energy ar low cost by means of water power from lakes on Snowdon without steam power and the expense of coal." The current is supplied to local quarry owners, and in bulk to more distant consumers. [1]
The North Wales Power and Traction Co Ltd was the sole backer of the Portmadoc, Beddgelert and South Snowdon Railway
1903 The company sort powers to construct the Snowdon and Bettws-y-Coed Light Railway[2]
The company overspent on the Power Station it was building. The Power Station started generating electricity in September 1906, but meanwhile, completion of the railway and electrifying the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railways, under an agreement of November 1904, took a back seat
1906 January: A two year delay was agreed in the completion of the NWNGR and introduction of steam working; this delay led to abandonment.
1921 Submitted a scheme for improvement in the supply of electricity in the North Wales and Chester Electricity District; the Corporation of Chester submitted a competing proposal.[3]
1922 Hawarden Rural District Council sort powers to take electricity from the company and other sources[4]
1922 The Electricity Commissioners held an inquiry into the proposals of the Corporation of Chester and that of the North Wales Power Co[5]
