Northern Institute of Mining Engineers

From Graces Guide

1852 Formation of a society, proposed to be called 'The North of England Society for the prevention of Accidents, and for other purposes connected with Mining' at Newcastle

Almost immediately afterwards the name was changed to the North of England Institute of Mining Engineers which is presumably the same as this.

It is presumed the terminology "Northern Institute of Mining Engineers" is shorthand for "North of England Institute of Mining Engineers".
