c1919 The firm was founded by Frederick John Osborn with Norman Frederick Wood

Post WWI. The company built a 499cc single and a 998cc V-twin machines, with Blackburne engines, for Burney and Blackburne. They did not appear as manufacturers in their own right until 1922.

1922 March. Mention of the Osborn Engineering Co's works at Lees lane, Gosport.[1]

1930 Frederick John Osborn is stated to be the managing director of the Osborn Engineering Co.[2]

1930 Advertisement. Chromium Plating by Osborn Engineering Co of Atlanta Works, Gosport.[3]

1931 November. Auction of assets by Receiver. '...Osborn Engineering Co., Ltd., Gosport, Hants. Order of the Receiver.....first lot will offered the extensive Freehold Factory at Gosport, known as THE OSBORN ENGINEERING WORKS, LEE’S LANE. FORTON ROAD. GOSPORT, with substantial brick buildings, having floor space of about 32,800 sq. ft., with offices, stores, and manager’s house, and brick-built residence adjoining, known as Forton House. Immediately afterwards will be offered in Lots, in detail, the MODERN ENGINEERS’ MACHINE TOOLS AND PLANT and other contents of the works, including lathes, milling and shaping machines. drilling and grinding machines, sheet metal plant, including power stamping press, bond presses, bonding and swaging rolls, etc ...'[4]

1937 May. Advertisement. Osborn Engineering Co of Highbury street, Old Portsmouth.[6]

1937 Experimental engineers.

1939 March. Advertisement for Commander Model 300 OHV. Address is O.E.C. Ltd, Atlanta Works, Highbury St., Portsmouth.[7]

1951 October. Advertisement gives O.E.C. Ltd., of Atlanta Works, Stamshaw Road, Portsmouth.[8]

1954 Motorcycle production ended
