1855 Patent. '1509. To Samuel Oddy, of the firm of Oddy, Thompson, and Oldfield, of the Adelphi Iron Works, Salford, in the county of Lancaster, Machine Makers, for the invention of "improvements in constructing and lubricating the bearings of mule spindles."[1]
1856 Patent. '391. To Edward Oldfield, of the firm of Oddy, Thompson, and Oldfield, of the Adelphi Iron Works, Salford, in the county of Lancaster, Machine Makers, for the invent ion of "certain improvements in self-acting mules for spinning".[2]
