Mr. Grodzinski was educated at the Technische Hochschule, Dresden, where he graduated in 1923. After intermediate work as a designer for jigs and tools, he was employed by a firm of consulting engineers in Berlin until 1932.

From 1932 to 1938 he worked as a consultant and free-lance technical writer, publishing a book on kinematics in 1933 and a book on diamond tools in 1936.

He came to Great Britain in 1938 and after a short occupation as development engineer in the production of jewel bearings, he became head of the Diamond Research Department, Industrial Distributors (Sales), Ltd., in 1943. From the beginning of his professional work he has been interested in mechanisms and was one of the first members of the AWF Getriebe-Ausschuss.
