Launched 1836. Built for the Honourable East India Company, London by Wood & Co, Port Glasgow. Engine by Robert Napier, Glasgow. destroyed by fire 1866 [1]
1838 'Napier is sadly annoyed at the breaking of the Berenice's engine. A new shaft was despatched this morning by a Steamer to Falmouth where it is to be put on board the Semiramis in time to admit of her starting on or about the time announced for her sailing. ...'[2]
