1949 Jack Lee, his brother, brother-in-law and a friend, all recently demobbed, set up the business making fondants from glucose as sugar was rationed.

1960s Pioneered the production of striped rock; their products were on sale in most of Britain's seaside resorts.

2001 the company was bought by Danish-owned Toms Confectionery Ltd

2004 director Nigel Lee bought back part of the business, and set up Parrs Rock & Novelty Company at Roundways Industrial Estate in Wallisdown.

2006 Toms Confectionery became the Tangerine Confectionery

2007 Parrs at Wallisdown closed

2013 Tangerine Confectionery closed the Alder Road site, moving production to Yorkshire and Lancashire.
