1906 'New Peel Mill. 'On Saturday last an interesting ceremony took place at the Peel Weaving Shed, Darwen, recently built by Mr. Robert Shorrock, contractor, Darwen, for the Darwen Mill Building Company. The occasion was the christening of two new engines. Mr. F. G. Hindle opened the proceeding in a few interesting remarks on the building of the mill, and of the connections of the Messrs. Bannister Brothers, the lesees of the mill. The engines were named after two children of the family - Percy and Doris respectively.'[1]
