PERCY HERBERT ARBER was born in 1876 and served his apprenticeship from 1893 to 1897 with Messrs. R. Moreland and Sons, brewers' engineers. He remained with that firm as mechanical draughtsman until 1903, when he became general manager of Messrs. Powers and Deane Ransomes Ltd., constructional engineers, London, with whom he was associated for many years. He also took over the duties of chief supervising engineer and secretary.
His appointment as director with the entire control of the works and production dated from 1921. Subsequently he went into business on his own account and established the firm of Messrs. P. H. Arber and Company, constructional steelwork engineers. He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1909 and was transferred to Membership in 1922. His death occurred at Enfield, Middlesex, in December 1944.
