1872 August 16th. Born in Eastbourne the son of William Morris Caffyn, Electrical Engineer.

Left school at 12 and entered father's business; in 1903 started motor business finally turned into Caffyns, Ltd., with branches in several parts of county of Sussex

1942 'The grandson of a farmer of Forest Bow, Mr. Percy Thomas Caffyn, chairman of directors and one of the founders of Caffyns, Ltd., the Sussex motor engineers, has died at an Eastbourne nursing home. For 40 years he was a local preacher, being a member of the Pevenseyroad Congregational Church. Eastbourne. He formerly resided at Heathlleld.'[1]
