1939 The company was incorporated in New York.

1944 Introduced the first commercial infra-red spectro-photometer.

1949 Introduced the first commercial flame photometer

1999 EG&G acquired the analytical instruments business of PerkinElmer and changed the name of the enlarged group to PerkinElmer Inc. concentrating on health sciences, photonics and fluid sciences.
