PETER ISLES WHITTON, born at Coltness, Lanark, on the 23rd November, 1877, was killed in action at the Dardanelles on the 28th June, 1915.
After acting as Resident Engineer on waterworks at Ayr and Arbroath, he assisted the late Sir William Robertson Copland, M. Inst. C.E., under whom he had been trained, on various sewerage and water-supply works, subsequently carrying out, in partnership with Mr. John D. Parker, M. Inst. C.E., water-supply schemes for Dunfermline and Kelso, and other works.
He was a captain in the 7th Cameronians (Scottish Rifles).
He was elected an Associate Member on the 3rd April, 1906.
