Peter Raymond Bailey (Fellow) died on Jul 12. Educated at Derby, St Albans and Luton, he served his apprenticeship at Vauxhall Motors, subsequently joining the Engineering Department where he spent 27 years prior to taking up an appointment as Manager of the Special Installations Division at the Bedford Plant. Throughout his career he was intimately associated with the design and development of motor vehicles, and with that of passenger cars and trucks.

He was an active member of the Institution and was a member of the Branch and Centre Committees. He served on the Luton AD Centre Committee as Secretary, later becoming a Committee Member and subsequently Chairman of the Eastern Branch.
