Timber merchant

1851 Timber merchant and Widower, at Brighton visiting his son-in-law Charles John Mare, with Annie Rolt (age 20 born Blackheath). Plus seven servants. [1]

1857 Acquired the insolvent business of his son-in-law, C. J. Mare and Co at Blackwall, and formed Thames Ironworks Co

1872 Peter Rolt and Frank Clarke Hills, contributories of the Thames Iron Works and Ship Building Co, applied for the company to be wound up[2]
