1793 Advert: 'APPRENTICE RUNAWAY. WHEREAS JOHN WROE, indentured Apprentice to Peter Whitaker, of Manchester, hath absented himself from his Master's Employment — He is a young Man about 19 Years of Age, is by Trade a Wood and Iron Turner, in the Machinery Business. This is therefore to give Notice, that any Person employing the said John Wroe, after this Date, will be prosecuted as the Law directs. January 22d, 1793.' [1]

1794. Bankrupt. 'Peter Whitaker, now or late of Manchester in the County of Lancaster, Machine-Maker, Dealer and Chapmen' [2]
