1912 Obituary [1]

PHILIP ELIOT HODGKIN, born at West Derby, Liverpool, on the 24th April, 1864, died at Edgbaston on the 11th May, 1912.

After serving an apprenticeship in the works of the Pulsometer Engineering Company, Limited, now of Reading, of which his father is Managing Director, he entered that firm, with whom he remained up to the date of his death, specializing in the design of refrigerating and hydraulic machinery. He also took out many patents in the mechanical setting and distribution of types.

Mr. Hodgkin was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st April, 1890.
