1945 Died. 'Mr Philip Fussell, who has died 28. Fernbank Road, Redland. Bristol, in his 89th year, was for many years managing director Messrs. A. Fussell and Sons, boot manufacturers, Kingswood. Son of the late Mr Abraham Fussell, who established the industry in Kingswood in 1852, he became managing director when the company was incorporated 1899. He formed the first Boot Manufacturers' Association in Bristol, and was its chairman for many years. Living Hill Street, Kingswood, for most of his life, he served on the Kingswood Local Board and was original member of its successor, the present Kingswood Urban Council. A foundation director of the West Gloucestershire Water Company, he was also connected with a coalpit in the district.'
