1970 A new factory which will produce components for TV, scheduled for completion late 1971[1]

1974 The newest factory of Philips Electrical Limited[2]

1988 Name changes: Mullards, Philips’ parent company, will be known as Philips Components Ltd, while Philips Washington will become Philips Components Ltd.[3]

1992 Philips Components, Washington applied for an authorisation from the City of Sunderland to operate as a user of isocyonates in excess of 5 tonnes per annum at premises situated on the Stephenson Industrial Estate, Washington.[4]
