Phillips Rubbers

Phillips Rubbers Ltd, of 142, 144, 146 Old Street, London (1922)[1] and Dantzic Street, Manchester (see below).

1919 Phillips Rubbers Ltd was formed as a private company at the same address as Phillips Patents Ltd; the new company acquired all of the shares in the original company as well as Premier Waterproof and Rubber Co which had been manufacturing soles and heels for the company for some years.

1926 Company wound up voluntarily; the meeting was at the Old Street premises; Thomas Lilley was chairman[2]. The business and assets were acquired by Phillips Rubber Soles Ltd[3]

Presumably later succeeded by Phillips Rubbers (Manufacturing) Ltd and Phillips Rubber Soles Ltd

Manchester Works: 1958 Photo of works on Dantzic Street here [4]. This 1964 photo shows the Phillips Rubber Works alongside the River Irk. The 1915 O.S. map shows a Rubber Works at this location, bounded by Dantzic Street, Bromley Street, Bilberry Street and, to the south, a railway viaduct. The 1891 map shows houses at this location.
