Pickering Foods

From Graces Guide

The principal business of the company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of H. J. Heinz Co, is the manufacture and distribution of canned fruit and vegetables and of milk products.

The company also imports canned cat foods, mainly from another Heinz subsidiary in the United States, for sale under the brand name '9-Lives'. Sales have expanded steadily since the product was first introduced into the United Kingdom in 1968-69. The range has been extended by adding mackerel, pilchard and 'seafood platter' varieties to the original tuna flavour.
