Postal Museum
1996 The National Postal Museum was founded. The collection contained the world’s very first, first-day-cover, that of the "Penny Black". It also included 1839 Treasury Essays for pre-paid postage, some of Rowland Hill's letters and unique proofs and studies of stamps such as the Twopenny Blue and the Penny Red.
2004 The British Postal Museum & Archive established as an independent charity to care for five centuries of Royal Mail history.
2016 Re-launched as The Postal Museum.
