1906 Company founded.
1935 Formed as a private company as Cambrian Wagon and Engineering Co.
By 1947 it was a branch of Stephenson Clarke, a subsidiary of Powell Duffryn
1959 Company name changed to Powell Duffryn Engineering Co, reflecting a broadening of activities in view of the uneveness of the railway wagon manufacture and repair business[1]
1960 Acquired Pipeweld of Manchester, to extend the business into pipeline installation.
1961 Ironfounders, manufacturers of railway wagons, bulk storage tanks, materials handling equipment, road and rail tankers, springs, mini cars. Engineering generally. Employ 1,000 persons.[2]
1968 Powell Duffryn Engineering Co constructed six large storage tanks for Esso Petroleum Co.
1972 Acquired Sheppard Equipment of Thetford, maker of waste disposal equipment, to make the company one of the largest European manufacturers of waste and bulk handling equipment[3]
1974 Erected a 30ft high air storage facility at their factory in Llantrisant to house their production and spare parts stores.[4]
