1934 Appoint R. C. Taylor as Engineer and Manager of the Torquay and Paignton Gas Co.[1]

1948 'R. C. Taylor. M.8.E., J.Sc., M.I Mech.E. engineer and general manager of the Torquay and Paignton Gas Co. since 1934. who has been appointed general manager of the Southern Division (Cornwall, Devon and parts of Somerset) of the South Western Gas Board. Graduating at Leeds University In 1922, Mr. Taylor was then appointed assistant engineer and works manager to the Bridlington Gas Co. In turn he was deputy gas engineer at Singapore (1925-301, and then chief assistant engineer to the Portsmouth and Gosport Company, where he remained for four years until he obtained the Torquay appointment '[2]
