1839 Born in Anthony, Cornwall

1858-9 Pupil of George Cumming, county surveyor of Devon[1]

1859-61 Pupil of William Robert Galbraith, working then and subsequently on various railway schemes in the West of England.

1863 Resident engineer on the Okehampton line (Devon and Cornwall Railway)

Worked on the Torrington extension of the London and South Western Railway

1875 of Victoria St., Westminster when elected as Member of Institution of Civil Engineers[2]

1881 Richard F. Church 42, civil engineer, M Inst C E, lived in Ealing with Emily M. A. Church 46, Richard J. Church 17, Francis H. Church 16, Arthur F. Church 12, Edward G. Church 9[3]
