Rosina Seares Goddard sold her father's recipe for a "non-mecurial plate powder" during the late 1800s/early 1900s. There were a couple of court cases in which she ultimately lost the right to use the name Goddard with her recipe, because of the Leicester-based Goddard being better known in England (Rosina sold hers only in London and abroad)
