Portable Engine No. 19439. Built 1907, 4 nhp, 3.5 tons.

Built for export to Chile through agents W. R. Grace and Son to drive presses on an olive plantation.

Beacause it is a colonial type it is fitted with a larger firebox and larger firehole door to facilitate the burning of inferior fuels.[1]

This single cylinder portable engine was bought by Raymond Hoskin of Redruth in June 2007 from the Goddard family of Devizes who imported it from Chile, derelict. It is fitted with a colonial firebox.[2]

Fully restored by Raymond Hoskin and Scott Yeo, including all new front end, tubes, completely restayed valve, piston rod and bushes and all pump fittings and taps etc.[3]
