"RASMUS ANTON NORREGAARD, who was a native of Denmark, received his general education at the Fredericia Public School and his technical training, which extended from 1893 to 1897, at the Kolding Technical College.
During this latter period he also served his apprenticeship with Messrs. R. Madsen and Company, mechanical engineers, passing through the fitting and erecting shops and the drawing office. After a period of military training and some experience in the erecting shops of Messrs. Burneister and Wain, engineers and shipbuilders, of Copenhagen, he was for three years assistant engineer at the Frederikoberg electricity works in the same city. From 1903 to 1907 he served at sea as a marine engineer, rising from fourth to second engineer, and obtaining his Board of Trade Certificate. He then took up an appointment as assistant engineer to the Bombay Electric Supply and Tramway Company, Ltd., and later was placed in charge of the boiler house, being finally made superintendent. Returning to this country in 1932 he was engaged in a similar capacity at the boiler house of the St. Pancras Borough, Council's power station, a position he retained until his retirement in 1945. Mr. Norregaard, whose death occurred in February 1946, at the age of sixty-nine, was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1932."
