1930 Rentaset Ltd was at first concerned with radio relay, which business was started in 1930 by Mr. J. W. C. Robinson, who later became chairman of Radio Rentals.

Both companies had their origins in the early days of radio when there was a ready market for radio rental and relay services.

1964 Merger between two leading rental chains Radio Rentals and Rentaset. Mr J. W. C. Robinson, became chairman of Radio Rentals.
