RICHARD HENRY WHITTINGTON was a pupil of the Brush Electrical Engineering Company, to which he proceeded from Owen's College, Manchester.
He became engineer with the Blackpool Corporation and afterwards held similar positions at Norwich, Kilmarnock, and Frome.
Later he took up constructional engineering, and in 1909 became massaging director of the Standard Steel Company of Croydon.
In 1911 he started business independently in London, but this was interrupted by the outbreak of war, and he was unfortunate enough to spend three-and-a-half years in prison camps in Germany.
After the War he re-established his business connexion, and at the time of his death, on 27th December 1926, was managing director of Messrs. Richard Whittington and Company, sanitary engineers, Borough, S.E.
He became an Associate Member of the Institution in 1911 and he was also an Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
He was 41 years of age.
